Lucky Odeh

GSRC Head Squash Pro

Lucky Odeh a native of Nigeria. He joined the Nigerian squash federation 1991, and was the country's junior national champion from 1991-95 when he captained the junior squash team to Cairo, Egypt.

Following that he was selected to join the Nigerian National Men's team in 1997 and was ranked Number 3. He remained on the team until 1999 when he joined the Professional Squash Association (PSA), and moved to mexico to continue his playing career. He competed in various tournaments and was ranked Number 134 in the world and Number 6 in mexico.

In addition to all of his playing accolades, Odeh has been teaching the game of squash for over 13 years. He began at Ivory Health Club in Nigeria where he coached from 1996 through 1998, serving as a squash pro. From 1998-99 he worked as head pro/touring pro at the Power House Health Club in Nigeria.

After moving to Mexico in 1999, he became the Mexican National Female and junior squash team coach, where he prepared them for international championships.

Amongs his notable players he worked with are Erik Galves and Samantha Terron, both ranked in the top 50, on the men's and women's world ranking associations.

During that time he also helped coach various state teams in Mexico. From 2000 through 2001 he coached Coahuilla State team and also served as a head pro at the Cumbre and Vapour Club. From 2001 through 2002 he coached the Zacatecas state team serving as head coach.

Odeh began is coaching career in the United States, working as Head pro at the Tennis and Racquet Club in Boston, Massachusetts, where he organized squash programs, maintained the pro shop, and was in charge of other squash employees.

From 2001 through 2004 he was the Massachusetts State's champion two years in a row and runner up in the third. He also coached the all Boys Belmont Hill High school 2003 to 2004 season, where lead them to there biggest win in the school history.

Most recently Odeh was the director, junior squash program and assistant pro at the Meadow Mill Athletic Club and has worked as Elite Coach in the Naval Academy, Williams College, and Valkayrie Squash Club, where he tutored nationally ranked players.

Odeh earned his ordinary level degree in lithographic from Yaba College of Technology currently know as Yaba University of Lagos, in 1998, where he was the captain of the squash team in 1997. In 1998 he won four gold medals at the Nigerian poly technical games and was named the most valuable athlete of the the year.
